Reducing Flanges is the reducing pattern desk of Texas Flange & Fittings Inc., a Houston flange supplier machining industrial pipe flanges since 1986.

Texas Flange supplies ASME and non-code industrial pipe flanges for the petrochemical, process and waterworks industries. Sizes 1/2 inch through 203 inches, pressure classes 75 through API 20K, in carbon steel, stainless, chrome alloy, duplex and specialty grades, with material test reports available throughout.

A reducing flange is a simple idea that causes a surprising amount of trouble. The flange ring, the outside diameter, thickness and bolt pattern, is that of the larger pipe size. The bore, and on a weld neck the hub, is that of the smaller size. One part, two sizes, and no separate reducer in the line.

It gets specified to save a fitting and a weld, or to tie a smaller branch into an existing bolt pattern that nobody wants to redrill. It gets specified wrongly when the flow cares about the abrupt transition, and part of our job at quote stage is to say so.

What we do

Reducing weld neck flanges

Larger ring, smaller hub and bore, machined to the ASME B16.5 pattern.

Reducing slip-on and threaded

The common small and mid bore reducing patterns, full larger-size thickness.

Reducing socket weld and lap joint

Small bore instrument and utility work, and loose ring arrangements.

Large diameter reducing patterns

B16.47 Series A and B footprints, long weld necks and special body connectors.

The full material list

Carbon, chrome, stainless, duplex, aluminum, Hastelloy, Inconel, Incoloy, Monel and titanium.

Custom work to print

Past the published tables the job is a drawing. We machine to it, through 203 inches.
